Last Wednesday was Emerson’s last day of dancing class at Delarue Dance Centre!!!! We have been totally blessed that Emerson loved dancing so much!!! She started dancing when she was two and a half years old and has never stopped tappin’ since!!!! So as tradition goes……..they had a popsicle party for the kids!!! It was so HOT………a “frozen treat” was perfect!!!  The girls had a blast!!! Now we can’t wait for the dance revue this Saturday and Sunday to celebrate the 40 years of Delarue Dance!!!!!!!!  Thanks Mrs. Carol and Mrs. Michelle for an excellent first year for EMMY!!!!!

I know…I know…..I know…….I know………you guys have been waiting and waiting for Emmy’s 3 year portraits………….Well here they are!!! Emerson turned 3 on March 10th and she couldn’t be more ROTTEN!!!! Matt and I don’t really know what we would do with out her!! She is quite possibly part of our heart beats!!! She is a friend, a companion, and an artist!!! We couldn’t ask for much more!!! She really is a great child and makes us smile more than cry……that’s always good!!!! Emerson we love you!!!

So you know when you have your first child you try to do something for every holiday with them?  Like I’m supermom or something,LOL.  Anyway I decided to surprise her with a little baking lesson, so we made heart shaped cupcakes. Boy did we have fun!!! And as you’ll see Emerson had a fabulous time.

I’m always trying to find exciting and different things to do with my daughter, as I’m sure all of you moms out there try to do the same. Well if anyone has any great ideas please fill free to email them to me or put them in the comment area.  Enjoy the pics of our little PRINCESS.

And some sprinkles or as Emerson called them krinkles. It was sooo cute to she her trying to get them off her fingers and on to her cupcakes.

It was Mmmm, Mmmm good!!!!

Well as some of you know Emerson was hospitalized this week for Pnuemonia, this was the second time in 5 weeks that she was diagnosed with it. But let me assure you all, this time was different. Her temp was as high as 104.0F  and she wasn’t drinking , refusing to eat even her favorite food nuggets and fries.  For those of you who really know my daughter you know if she was refusing food she must of been really sick,and she was.  So her wonderful pediatrician Dr. Bailey decided it was time  to go to the hospital.  And good thing we did because her blood work said it all .

One of the scariest things is watching your child get an IV put in, because they are looking at you in fear and you are having to help hold them still so the nurse hurts them as little as possible.  Well one thing that Women’s and Children’s hospital is doing right is that they employ a child life specialist and her job is to help kids understand the procedures and treatments that are being done to them by play and example on stuffed animals.  Janie was excellent, this is definitely a calling for her and we think every hospital that cares for kids should employ one or many.  Thank you so much Janie you made our stay at Women’s easier, you are awesome!!!

It’s been a crazy few weeks but we feel so blessed that our little girl is getting better.  May God bless everyone involved in her care. A special thanks to Dr. Bailey for always trusting this nervous mommy’s instincts. Thanks to all of you who called e-mailed and facebooked your concerns and prayers for Emerson we appreciate it all more than I can express.

Thank god for DVD’s

This is Janie(the child life specialist) she is showing Emerson on a bear exactly what the nurse was going to do when putting in the IV.  It helped with the fear, she didn’t cry as much, it was wonderful.
